Tasik Divers Komodo
The alternative to a liveaboard dive cruise
Yes it’s true, diving in Komodo National Park is not just for liveaboards anymore. Tasik Divers Komodo offers one of most premium dive and stay packages in the area located in Labuan Bajo, also known as the gateway to some of the world’s best diving and Komodo dragon.
The Komodo diving area is known for adrenaline-pumping encounters with oceanic mantas, sharks, giant trevally, jack fish and other large pelagic species. There are also many sites for lovers of macro life including pigmy seahorses, frogfish, sea dragons and other tiny creatures. The area boasts more than 40 different dive sites.
Laprima Hotel Komodo is Tasik Divers’ four-star partner hotel. The single-building style hotel is closely located to Labuan Bajo and can be reached by foot in only 15 minutes. All 88 rooms have a private balcony (hill view or sea view) and boast clean, modern and comfortable accommodations. Laprima offers buffet or a-la-cart style breakfast, lunch and dinner with magnificent sunset views. Room service, spa treatment and laundry services are available.
Most of the dive sites are located within Komodo National Park. They typically depart the hotel after breakfast about 7:30AM and meet Blue Stellar at the marina only 5 minutes away. During the 45-60 minute cruise to the first dive site, aboard you can enjoy coffee, tea and light snacks. Expect to dive the eastern side or northern part of Komodo Island. Dives usually last 50-60 minutes depending on the group’s experience and profile. Tasik Divers emphasizes non-decompression diving and safety above all. Before and after each dive, roll call is conducted and each diver is provided a personal surface marker buoy for additional safety. In addition, we limit our diver to guide ratio of only 4:1 to avoid any traffic jam under water and stay safe in potentially strong currents. Note: their two diver minimum requirement for day trips is the lowest in Labuan Bajo.
The Blue Stellar purpose-built dive boat is ready to serve divers with the following specifications:
- Length: 19m
- Beam: 3m
- Power: 100hp four-cylinder Mitsubishi inboard diesel engine
- Speed: about 9 knots
- Capacity: up to 12 divers with 5 crew/dive guides
- Safety Equipment: life jackets, VHF radio, oxygen, flare, AED and GPS device
- Galley and full size Western head
- Upper sun & shade deck with cushion and bean-bag seating to relax
