Kuda Laut Resort Siladen

Onong Resort Siladen

The Kuda Laut Resort (“Kuda Laut” means “seahorse” in Indonesian) is located on the small idyllic island of Siladen. The resort displays spectacular views of Bunaken and the North Sulawesi coast. It consists of just 8 Cottages and 4 Superior Rooms. The Superior Rooms are on the upper floor of the main building, they are air-conditioned and each has its own large bathroom. The spacious cottages, which were built with attention to detail and style, are distributed across the large beautiful garden, 2 Garden Family Cottages with 2 separate rooms, and 4 Beach View Cottages and 2 Beach Villas directly on the beach

The main building features most of the facilities: the restaurant, the lounge with a billiard table and a shop. There is a pretty central garden area with a small pond and right next to the restaurant are the beach bar, the swimming pool and the beautiful white sandy beach. With a maximum depth of 2m, the swimming pool is suitable for scuba diving courses. There is also a small pavilion on the right side of the beach, which is perfect for a romantic honeymoon dinner or for enjoying your pre-dinner cocktails. On the upper floor of the main building there are the Superior Rooms, a spa and a large terrace with gorgeous views of the ocean and the northern coast of the Manado bay, with Mount Lokon in the distance.

Accommodations

The spacious bungalows are spread across the large resort area and all of them have (at least partial) views of the ocean. Apart from the above mentioned Superior Rooms there are three categories of bungalows: Garden Family Cottage, Beach View Cottage and Beach Villa. The cottages were built in the traditional Minahasa style.

All four Beach Cottages are designed as single-floor double bungalows and display a room-high glass front towards the sea. They are air-conditioned and equipped with a large double bed, walk-in closet, mini bar, music system, spacious open-air bathroom with freshwater shower, and a large porch with lounge seating and hammock or swing. The Cottages are just steps away from the beach and feature beautiful views of the sea and the grand volcanic landscape of North Sulawesi.

Dining

The chefs create wonderful meals from a fusion of Indonesian and international cuisine. Meals are usually served in buffet style, but when there are only few guests in the resort, they can pick from a menu and will be served individually. The Western breakfast buffet offers everything, from cereal to yoghurt, fresh fruits, toasts, and eggs in any style. All full board meals and free drinking water is included in the package.

Diving

There is a large room with individual stalls for drying the dive equipment and a large and air-conditioned camera room with 12 workspaces. On the upper floor of the dive center there is an open-air class room. The dive guides set up the gear on the dive boats, change the tanks between the dives and wash and dry the equipment at the end of the day. You don’t have to carry your dive equipment, just dive and relax.

The Kuda Laut fleet comprises of two large and one smaller traditional fiberglass purposed built boats for diving. The boats have a spacious fully covered dressing and seating area, a sun deck, a toilet, and lots of space to get ready for the dive in a relaxed manner. The boats also carry a fresh water box for cameras. The larger boats can accommodate 14 divers each, while the speedboat brings 6 divers. In-between dives fresh fruits and cookies will be served while cold water, hot water, coffee and tea are available throughout the dive trip. All boats are equipped with emergency oxygen and a first aid set and our crews are trained for the case of an emergency.

For the ultimate diving experience the dive groups are limited to four divers and one experienced dive guide.
